  • Ferndale Repertory Theatre 447 Main Street Ferndale, CA 95536 United States (map)

The Ferndale Museum presents its feature-length documentary movie, Letters Home, at Ferndale Repertory Theatre on Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11 at 2pm and 7pm. Produced in 2010 by the Ferndale Museum, Letters Home is about the participation, both in the armed services and on the home front, of the Eel River/Bear River/Mattole Valleys in World War II. More than 22 percent of the total population of that region served in the armed forces, compared with the national average of 12 percent. Letters Home won the Western History Association's Autry Public History Award in 2011 for the best contribution in the U.S./Canada to the public's understanding of a historical event. This movie was last shown on Veterans Day 2010. Tickets ($10) may be purchased starting in October at Becker's Insurance, Ring's Pharmacy, The Ferndale Museum; or online at ferndalemuseum.com.
